Welcome to Blue-Skyes . Post your Viewpoint, Your Ideas, Conflicting things you have noticed, post Questions, or Answer Questions if you can, We forget things rather quickly, what might be needed is a way to keep these things current for as long as it takes so that what has occured before is not just forgotten or swept under the rug. Remember the gold standard, when our nation fed the world, when houses cost what they were really worth, and if you built on or upgraded it was worth more, remember when fuel was abundant and cheap, when we grew crops and did not pay the farmers not to grow.
All these things conflict and this is how our nation died…… how many things have you seen or heard about being the best thing ever,, and then 5 years later its being listed as the cause for many different problems…this is the world we live in because of greed….
Finely Textured Beef — needs to be out of our food supply
With the recent media frenzy over pink slime, or finely textured beef, local food chains are quickly joining a growing number of outlets nationwide dropping the filler from their product lines. On Thursday, Stop & Shop added to the long list of stores that announced that it will no longer purchase fresh ground beef containing Finely Textured Beef in recent days.
Stop & Shop
“While the US Department of Agriculture has indicated this product is safe for consumption and complies with all applicable standards for lean beef, many of our customers have voiced concern regarding Finely Textured Beef.” the company said in a release “We value the trusted relationship we have with our customers and their feedback on this issue. Stop & Shop will continue to communicate openly with customers and stands by the quality, safety and compliance of all products we sell.”
Walmart
“As a result of customer and member feedback, Walmart and Sam’s Club will begin offering fresh ground beef that does not contain lean finely textured beef (LFTB). We are working aggressively with our suppliers to have new offerings in our stores and clubs as quickly as possible. As these products become available, associates in our meat department and at our
Brazilian Women Murdered, Eaten And Made Into Human Pastries
SAO PAULO — Police have arrested three people for allegedly killing at least two women, eating parts of their bodies and using their flesh to make stuffed pastries known as empanadas that they sold to neighbors in their northeastern Brazil city.
The three suspects – a man, his wife and his mistress – belonged to a sect that preached “the purification of the world and the reduction of its population,” police inspector Wesley Fernandes in the city of Garanhuns told the Globo TV network Friday.
The newspaper Estado de S.Paulo said the man, Jorge Beltrao Negromonte, wrote a 50-page book titled “Revelations of a Schizophrenic” in which he says he hears voices and is obsessed with the killing of women.
Fernandes said the three were arrested Wednesday and had confessed to the crimes.
The three allegedly lured women to their house by promising them a job as a nanny. They were tracked down after one of the arrested women used a credit card belonging to a victim who disappeared last month.
Police found the remains of the two women in the backyard of the suspects’ house, which enraged neighbors burned to the ground Thursday.
Fernandes identified the three as Negromonte; his wife, Isabel Cristina Pires; and
Pink Slime — Not OK — and not in our fast food either
What’s in a name?
When it comes to ammonia-treated beef, everything.
Whether it’s “lean, finely-textured beef” — or just “pink slime” — New Jersey will stop serving the controversial beef filler in its schools starting in September. Some districts, however, are not waiting and have already yanked it off the menu.
The state Department of Agriculture notified school districts and administrators last month that it would stop providing beef with the filler beginning next school year — and is allowing districts to opt-out of accepting the beef with the filler for the remainder of this school year, though the districts would lose the subsidies tied to it.
Though a full list of the school districts to take the step isn’t available, one of them is Paramus. The Bergen County district will pay an extra 8 cents to 10 cents for each pound of meat for 2,800 students — an additional $8,000 to $10,000 per year— to switch, said Joseph Lupo, the district’s interim superintendent.
“When we deal with kids’ health, it’s safety first — and research second,” Lupo said. “Not being chemists, we didn’t know how much ammonia would be safe. We made the decision that it was filler and we didn’t need to serve
Obama wants Congress to strengthen federal supervision of oil markets
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama pushed Congress Tuesday to give oil market regulators more muscle to deter price manipulation by speculators, the latest White House response to determined Republican attacks on administration energy policies amid high gas prices at the pump.
Obama wants Congress to strengthen federal supervision of oil markets, increase penalties for market manipulation and empower regulators to increase the amount of money energy traders are required to put behind their transactions.
“We can’t afford a situation where some speculators can reap millions while millions of American families get the short end of the stick,” Obama said at the White House.
The plan is more likely to draw sharp election-year distinctions with Republicans than have an immediate effect on prices at the pump. The measures seek to boost spending for Wall Street enforcement at a time when congressional Republicans are seeking to limit the reach of federal financial regulations.
The president’s $52 million proposal comes as Republicans have been hammering Obama on his energy policies, recognizing the political cost of high gas prices on the president. Obama’s plan would turn the tables on Republicans by taking aim at Wall Street’s role in the oil price chain.
Obama was joined during his Rose
Fossil Fuel Subsidies ending — hopefully !!
What is a fossil fuel subsidy? A fossil fuel subsidy is any government action that lowers the cost of fossil fuel energy production, raises the price received by energy producers or lowers the price paid by energy consumers. There are a lot of activities under this simple definition—tax breaks and giveaways, but also loans at favorable rates, price controls, purchase requirements and a whole lot of other things.
How much money does the U.S. government give oil, gas and coal companies? Estimates of the value of U.S. federal subsidies to the domestic oil and gas industry alone (not coal) range from “only” $4 billion a year, to an amazing $41 billion annually. One recent comprehensive study of U.S. energy subsidies (see graph below) identified $72.5 billion in federal subsidies for fossil fuels between 2002-2008, or just over $10 billion annually. For more information on the range of subsidies, see below.
Whatever the number, it seems ludicrous that any of our tax dollars would support such established and profitable industries. These energy subsidies are completely out of step with a nation that now broadly accepts the need to end our collective “oil addiction.”

Mitt Romney the new destroyer of America
Mitt Romney the new destroyer of America —- Yes he will take over where Nixon and Reagan left off ……………
President Obama has been blamed for high unemployed, deficit, and not being patriotic. Mostly by Republicans critical analysis of him … I believe Republicans give the impression they are bullet proof (above criticism, condemnation, let’s blame the democrats) … However if you look back 50 yrs to the era of President Nixon you will see the real reason for a majority of our problems in 2011 (deficit, high-unemployment, devalued dollar) began under and were caused by Nixon. . Now let’s face it the Republicans have put forth some great presidents in the past Eisenhower a 10 Reagan a 10+, Bush I a 7 to 8 … but Republicans have tried also tired to pull the wool over are eyes on a few also like Herbert Hoover – Great Depression I, Bush II – Failure to Monitor Economic/Monetary Indicators resulted in Economic Chaos/Flash Crash, but the worst in the last 50 years by far, the one that caused today’s problems and permanent damage to the country is Richard Milhous Nixon … Still consider by some a great President and man … Even
THE LOTTERY !!!!
What if we opened up the odds a bit so that more like 40 people could win the lottery each time or 30,, whatever works,,, a 50 million jackpot could be distributed to the winners,,,plus all the 4 number, no 3 number, no 2 number, no bonus numbers.(just use 5 numbers)..the big winners would get around a million each…more than enough to set themselves up with cars ,, houses ,, a business,,,and put a bit away for later….this money would roll right back into the economy of the area where they live..boosting the general economy in the long run…of course they would be forbidden to play the lottery again for a set amount of time say 3 years or so…giving ample amounts of time for others to win in that time frame…how long would it take before all have won the lotto and we become a nation of wealth..that money would trickle down to other family members,,,instead we let the few win more money than they know what to do with, and the state and fed gets a bunch of tax moneys,,,lets work it so all of us benefit from this instead — hasn’t helped the school systems,,might as well

America ran just fine on the gold standard until the government started spending way too much and needed a way to get more money,,,thats what it all boils down to…They could have started a new standard to increase what was in place,,,keeping the gold standard and upping the anti with the platinum standard or the rhodium standard, but instead chose to just print more money until,,,,here we are !!! on our way to being a third world nation….letting politicians be corrupt…letting the stock market run the world…letting the American public down and filling their own pockets with money while it is still worth something—- — here is a ron paul interview
